Billing & Insurance
We're a team of passionate therapists committed to research backed treatments and affordable mental health care.
Fairfax Therapy Group is located in Northern Virginia and accepts most major insurance plans. We believe high-quality mental health care should be accessible, and our team will help you understand your benefits before beginning therapy whenever possible.
We currently accept, or are in the process of working with, many major insurance plans, including:
CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield
Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield
Aetna
Cigna
UnitedHealthcare

Insurance coverage can vary by plan, provider, and service type. Before your first appointment, our team will help verify your benefits and review any estimated copays, deductibles, or out-of-pocket costs so you know what to expect.
Please note: We only accept clients using insurance. We do not offer an option for self-pay counseling, out of network billing, or sliding scale therapy options.
Contact the billing department.

Your rights and protections against surprise billing.
You are protected from surprise billing under the No Surprises Act, a federal law that took effect on January 1, 2022. This law is designed to protect clients from unexpected medical bills and to increase transparency around the cost of care, including outpatient mental health services.
Under the No Surprises Act, if you are uninsured or choose not to use your insurance for services, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected charges for non-emergency services before those services are provided. This estimate outlines anticipated costs based on the information reasonably available at the time it is issued.
You also have the right not to be billed more than the amount listed in your Good Faith Estimate unless certain legally permitted circumstances apply. If the final bill is $400 or more above the Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the bill through a federal patient–provider dispute resolution process.
If you believe you have been wrongly billed or that your rights under the No Surprises Act have been violated, you may contact the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) No Surprises Help Desk at 1 (800) 985-3059 or visit https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises for more information about your rights under federal law.
You may also contact the Virginia Attorney General – Consumer Protection Section, located at 202 North Ninth Street, Richmond, Virginia 23219, by calling (804) 786-2042 or toll-free at 1 (800) 552-9963, or by visiting https://www.oag.state.va.us/consumer-protection/index.php for more information about your rights under Virginia law.
