Lori Zastrow, EdM, NCC, DBT-LBC (she/her)
Licensed Professional Counselor | LGBTQ+ & Neurodivergent Therapist
Lori Zastrow, MA, EdM, LPC, NCC, DBT-LBC, serves as Assistant Clinical Director at Fairfax Therapy Group, where she provides therapy and supports the practiceβs Resident in Counseling program through supervision, consultation, and clinical development. Her approach is warm, active, and collaborative, with a strong foundation in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, somatic work, and other evidence-based approaches. Lori helps clients better understand the connection between their emotions, bodies, thoughts, relationships, and patterns of behavior, while also developing practical skills they can use outside of the therapy room. She especially enjoys working with clients who have a great deal of insight into themselves but want help turning that insight into meaningful change.
Lori works extensively with LGBTQ+ individuals, neurodivergent adults, and clients navigating ADHD, autism, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, burnout, people-pleasing, trauma, and relationship concerns. Her work with ADHD and autism is neurodiversity-affirming and often incorporates executive-functioning support, mindfulness, emotional regulation, and greater awareness of how stress and emotions show up in the body. She uses somatic approaches to help clients notice and understand physical cues from the nervous system rather than relying only on intellectual insight, while DBT and mindfulness provide practical tools for responding differently when emotions become intense. Lori aims to create a therapy space where clients can be fully themselves while receiving thoughtful, evidence-based care that feels practical, affirming, and human.
